Privacy Policy

What we collect

Directly from you:

• Your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of that password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Your name, if you sign in with Google.
• The budget data you enter yourself: bucket names and amounts, manually entered transactions, categorization, and notes.

If you connect a bank or credit card account through Plaid:

• Account balances, transaction history, and the name of your financial institution.
• Plaid access is read-only — Joo Money cannot move money, initiate payments, or change anything at your bank.
• The access token Plaid issues us to read your account is encrypted at rest before it is stored, using AES-GCM encryption.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not show you ads or share your financial data with advertisers or data brokers.

Who processes your data

We share data only with the service providers that make Joo Money work, and only for that purpose:

• Cloudflare — hosts the application and its database.
• Plaid — provides read-only access to your connected bank and credit card accounts.
• Stripe — processes the $3/month subscription payment for bank connections; we do not see or store your card details.
• Resend — delivers transactional email, such as email verification and password reset messages.
• Google — if you choose Google sign-in, authenticates you.

We do not permit these providers to use your data for any purpose other than providing their service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and budget data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete it (see below), we delete your data from our production systems; backups age out on their normal schedule.

Your rights

You can export your budget data at any time from within the app. You can ask us to delete your account and data by contacting us at agist9@gmail.com; we will confirm once it's done.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will email the account holder about it before the change takes effect.
